Artistes vists per artistes is proposed as an educational and educational activity that connects the direct interlocution between contemporary artists and the work by Apel·les Fenosa.

In this new activity of the program, we focus on the early periods of Fenosa’s work, which were configured primarily between classical and literary myths and academic forms.

Male bodies and classical antiquity have been some of the lines of investigation of the artist Juan Carlos Rego, as a first phase, as in Fenosa’s initial stages in the 1920s. In an opened session, we will talk about the work Homme couché (cycle de Ramón Llull) from 1946.

At the same university, he completed the doctorate program with the dissertation “The cultural representation of sexuality in the image”. He also worked as an intern in the curatorial department of the Guggenheim in New York and as a researcher at the Frick Art Reference Library of the Frick Collection. He is currently focused on his work as a visual artist, and on the development of a space for artistic projects in the city of Tangier, among other activities, as well as on the different professional associations of which he is a member, or represents, such as the presidency of the Institute of Contemporary Art (IAC) in the Balearic Islands.
